Never bought a home? No problem! Here are 10 easy steps to the home buying experience!

Step 1, find your loan officer. You can find one local to you by visiting (https://branches.snmc.com) (www.everlend.com)

Step 2, find out how much home you can afford by completing a fast free prequalification. Or better yet, ask your loan officer for a full approval. In today’s HOT market, sellers want to know which buyers are serious.

Step 3, now the fun part! Search for homes either online or with a real estate agent. (Download our SNapp App to make things even easier)

Step 4, once you’ve found that special place, it’s time to make an offer.

Step 5, if you haven’t already done so, take 20 minutes to apply for a mortgage. Note: from this point forward, do not open any new bank accounts or credit cards, and ensure you remain current on all your payments, so your application isn’t negatively affected.

Step 6, upload or send documents requested by your loan officer. Which are generally things like pay stubs, W2’s, bank statements, etc.

Step 7, the application is submitted for the first of two approvals, and an appraisal is ordered. Your loan officer will let you know if any additional information or documents are needed.

Step 8, once the appraisal is received, it gets reviewed, and the application is submitted for final loan approval. Note: it can an appraiser anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks to complete an appraisal.

Step 9, once your loan is fully approved, an appointment is scheduled for you to sign the final loan documents. This is commonly referred to as a closing.

The 10th and final step is the best! Move into your new home. That’s it! You can do this.
